My friend Sally

It’s the strangest and most fun thing, reconnecting with a junior school friend who in my mind’s eye is still a pre-teen. Then I got to meet her children who are around the age we last saw each other.

I enjoyed the happiest fun day with Sally. We nattered and laughed non stop catching up on a lifetime of stories. I do believe there were a few we never got to finish or even start.

There was some adulting required on our part as we were doing a personal branding and family session. We dedicated the morning to business and the afternoon for the family session.

It’s sad when we live so far away from each other – across the oceans in fact so it was wonderful to have our diaries align with each other. Hopefully, it won’t be another lifetime before we see each other again.

Zoro 1st Birthday Shoot

Doing doggy photo sessions are the best fun, although I am inherently scared of big dogs I don’t know so this was a great exercise for me especially as Zoro’s hello was bounding towards me with his bark as deep and loud as a tank!

Once I picked my nerves up off the sand, we quickly made friends and he gently took his favourite sweets (baby carrots) out my hand, then it was all systems go-go-go!

One-year-old pups are like toddlers on a sugar high – full of boundless energy so you have to be super quick and agile to keep up.

If there is one thing Zoro loves besides his daddy, it’s playing with his ball – so much so he broke the squicky insert on day one – a supposed indestructible ball is no challenge for this big boy.

Equine Time

There is something very special about photographing horses. They have the most beautiful natures.

Sue’s children gave her a Mother’s Day gift voucher for a session with her horses which she was unable to use until recently because of the awful winter weather we’ve been experiencing so we were both very excited when we finally firmed up a date.

Sue was most gracious in accommodating my requests for posing with her beautiful horses.

It was a little more challenging than I had anticipated getting the horses ears up and forward. I guess much like asking a child do do something they don’t want to do.

I loved that Duke, Tore and Jack were unsaddled and each had their own special bridal.

Studio Time

Not sure what has taken so long to convert (albeit small) a spare room into a studio at home – best fun decision in a long time.

Sadly the third wave of Covid is rife in South Africa at the moment so booking regular shoots will have to take a back seat for a while but I will thoroughly enjoy using the space as much as I can in the interim.

The Moore Family – part 2

It was wonderful to spend more time with the lovely Moore family and to meet sweet baby Caleb who could not be a more loved addition to this happy family. ❤

Caleb is so relaxed and chilled, which clearly runs in the family and his older siblings are such happy youngins which they obviously get from both their mommy and daddy. It’s so nice to see the connection between this young family, they are a shining example of what family is about.

The Moore Family – part 1

Some shoots are more fun than others and the family/maternity shoot I did with the wonderful and happy Moore family certainly ranks top of the list of fun shoots.

I had such a great time taking these pics, I could easily have spent the whole day with them.

The love this family radiates is palpable – I can’t wait to meet the new edition who is due very soon. ❤
